DaylightIn short: we don't collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Your entries, photos, moods and tags are stored only on your device. Daylight's App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

Who we are
Daylight is made by Path Integral, an independent software company in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). For UK GDPR purposes, Path Integral is the data controller for the small amount of personal data described in the network and email sections. You can reach us at support@daylightagenda.app.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Daylight is stored on your iPhone, inside a storage area that is shared only between the app and its own widgets:
- journal entries, titles and formatting;
- photos you attach;
- moods, including any energy level, feelings or reason you add;
- tags, templates, word goals and version history;
- statistics, patterns and insights, which the app works out on the device;
- your settings and the places you choose for the Day Circle.
We have no server that holds this information and no way to read it. Daylight does not sync between devices. Your data is included in your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer), which are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
To delete your data, delete entries in the app, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that iPhone. Anything you exported, such as a PDF, stays wherever you saved it.

Every permission is optional. You can change them at any time in the iPhone's Settings app, and Daylight keeps working without them.
What uses the network
Daylight works offline. It only goes online in three cases, and all three are listed here.
Tides (optional, off until you turn them on)
To show tides on the Day Circle, the app asks Daylight's own tide server for a seven-day tide table near you.
- What is sent: your latitude and longitude, rounded on your iPhone to two decimal places (about 1 km) before anything is sent, and the number of days requested. The request also carries a key that proves it came from the Daylight app. That key is the same for everyone, so it can't identify you.
- What the server keeps: the tide tables it has already fetched, stored by rounded location so that the next request for that area is answered from the cache, and a daily count of how many requests it made to the tide provider. It does not store your IP address, a device identifier or any record of who asked.
- Your IP address is visible to the server and to Cloudflare, which carries the connection. The server uses it for a short time in memory to limit abusive request rates and does not write it to disk. Cloudflare processes it under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- The tide provider (TideCheck) receives only the rounded location, and only from our server. It never receives your IP address.
Our legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest: providing the tide feature you turned on. To stop it, turn tides off in Daylight's settings.
Place search
If you search for a place to use on the Day Circle, the text you type is sent to Apple Maps to find matches. This is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't receive it.
The App Store
When you view or buy Daylight Pro, the app talks to the App Store. See Purchases.
Purchases
Daylight Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payment and handles your Apple Account, subscriptions, refunds and Family Sharing. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only learns, on your device, whether Pro is active. Apple gives us aggregate sales reports that don't identify you.
Apple features
Daylight supports widgets, Siri and the Shortcuts app, Spotlight, controls and Live Activities. These run through iOS on your device:
- Spotlight: Daylight adds your entries to your iPhone's on-device Spotlight index, so they can appear in search. You can turn this off in Daylight's settings, and the index is then cleared.
- Siri and Shortcuts: requests you make by voice are processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms. Daylight receives only the resulting action, such as the text to add to today's entry.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. Daylight contains no crash-reporting or analytics code of its own.
If you email us
If you write to support@ or press@daylightagenda.app, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you. We keep the conversation for as long as it's needed to help you, and for no more than 24 months after it ends. Our legal basis is legitimate interest in answering you. Please don't send us your journal entries. We never need them to help.
This website
daylightagenda.app is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or third-party scripts. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, to object to its use, and to data portability. Because we don't hold your journal or any account, there's usually nothing on our side to act on. Your data is on your device and under your control. For anything we might hold, such as an email conversation, write to support@daylightagenda.app and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority.
Children
Daylight is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
International transfers
The tide server runs in the United Kingdom. Cloudflare and Apple may process data in other countries under their own safeguards.
Changes to this policy
If what Daylight does with data changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the app update that changes it ships. A significant change, such as a new feature that sends data off your device, will also be described in the App Store release notes.
